Bade Khan and Chhote Khan Tombs

Bade Khan and Chhote Khan Tombs

The Bade Khan and Chhote Khan Tombs are Lodi-era gems, nestled in the Kotla Mubarakpur complex of South Extension With 'bade' meaning elder and 'chhote' meaning younger, it is believed that Bade Khan might have been the father or teacher of Chhote Khan in his time.

Keeping to its name, the Bade Khan Tomb features a slightly bigger structure with intricately carved interiors and octagonal turrets at the comers crowned with chattris. The walls of the Chhote Khan Tomb boast of some exquisite coloured-tile work tinged with shades of blue. Though less famous than the historic structures of their time, these twin tombs are the perfect source to study the authentic Lodi style architecture.
