Nestled in the heart of East Delhi, Sanjay Lake offers a wonderful boating experience with its lush green tracks and a fascinating diversity of flora and fauna. Dating back to the 1970s, the lake was developed by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) from the back-flowing Yamuna river and Hindon river channel.
While boating on the vast 17 hectares lake, one comes across the stunning fountains dotted across the landscape as well as. a quaint steel bridge in the centre. Nature lovers also get the opportunity to witness 90 different species of birds that are found here. For fitness enthusiasts, there's the surrounding Sanjay Lake Park featuring a jogging and walking track, a soft play area, an archery spot and a treetop course.
