Located on the South Central Ridge and Northwest of Vasant Vihar, is the massive 692 acre Aravalli Biodiversity Park (ABP). This vast green corner is dotted with small slopes and erstwhile clay mined pits of varied depths, shape and sizes. Most of these pits have been converted into conservatories of medicinal plants, ferns and orchids. The park houses a visitor and a nature reserve zone in particular. The landscape also showcases a vast variety of plants from shrub lands, tropical thorn forests, grasslands, deciduous forests, etc.
Besides these, the park is also known for its interesting nature trails through the recreated forests and seasonal water bodies offering its visitors ample scope to spend time in nature. The park also has a conservatory of butterflies that hosts over 100 species of butterflies and moths. An amphitheatre within the park gives visitors the perfect location to learn about nature, its flora and fauna. It is also the only place in the capital city to provide camping facilities for school children for imparting education about the environment.
